Transition Decision
On July 31, 2022 a historic decision was made by the members of Nashville United Methodist Church to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church with a resounding 94.6% vote.
On August 1, 2022 the members of NUMC gathered in worship, feasted at the table of the Lord’s Supper, and entered into discussion concerning joining the Global Methodist Church or becoming an independent church. The church spoke with a unanimous voice in favor of joining the Global Methodist Church.

On September 14, 2022 our church gathered to vote on our new church name. After hearing from 4 members of our church about different name options, church members voted. The results of the vote determined that our church will be Nashville Methodist Church.

On November 19th, the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church gathered to vote. They voted to allow our church (any many others) to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church.

Beginning January 1, 2023, Nashville United Methodist Church will become Nashville Methodist Church. We will be a part of the Global Methodist Church. Please continue to be in prayer for this transition, as we navigate the many pieces that need to be completed by December 31st.
